Band Review!

Clippoint put on a massive sound Saturday night at the puddle! The foundation was laid down by Travis Collins and Caleb Mooberry on Drums and Bass respectively. The highs came through nicely by Billy Akers on lead guitar stage right. The vocals were out front and clear belted by Aaron Mitchell. First set was a solid hour of jams. They took a much needed break and came out hard driven on the second set and did not let up the rest of the night. They came into their own mid second set with an acoustic sound and it was "take no prisoners" after that! No monkeying around between songs, it was all business. They were tight, in tune and it was showtime for both sets. - Owners of Mud Puddle Pizza

About the Band

Billy Akers and Caleb Mooberry are the founding fathers of Clippoint. They have been playing together since 2008, and added drummer Travis Collins in mid 2009. They then auditioned singer Aaron Mitchell early 2010, and Clippoint was started. They are a refreshing mix of covers and originals. Back up vocalist Tim Serpette also sings occasionally with Clippoint.

Aaron Mitchell is currently a student at Illinois Central College, and is a part of their choir. He has been singing and perfecting his voice and stellar melodies for years leading up to his involvement with Clippoint.

Guitarist Billy Akers, who attends Morton High School, is very involved with music. He not only plays electric guitar in the band, but also plays cello. He is a member of the Morton High School Orchestra, Prelude, Peoria Pops Orchestra, and Central Illinois Youth Symphony.

Bassist Caleb Mooberry, student at MHS as well, is also very involved in music. He plays string bass in

many groups as well as the bass guitar. He is a member of the Morton High School Orchestra, Prelude, and Central Illinois Youth Symphony.

Billy Akers and Caleb Mooberry are both taking part in the World Symphony in Boston.

Drummer Travis Collins has been a pivotal member to Clippoint, providing solid drum backing from the beginning. He has been playing drums for nearly 8 years now.
